Our Story

2002

Although Curve's doors didn't truly open until 2007 our story began forming long before that. In 2002 snocross racer, Nick Pryputniewicz, tired of the traditional ski's performance, met Sean Stumvoll, an avid motocross rider at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The two engineering students hit it off from the beginning and together their passion for the motorsports industry, specifically snowmobiling, was a breeding ground for new ideas.

They were able to use their engineering knowledge and background in motorsports to design a ski that handles in a very specific way like none other currently on the market. They developed Curve's patented variable geometry through trial and error; the technology manipulates the snow through carving and while the snowmobile is traveling straight. The term rail was used to describe how the skis transformed the snow beneath them.

After redesigning the snowmobile ski entirely the next challenge the team faced was funding, as two kids in college money wasn't exactly abundant. Thankfully for Curve there were many people who believed in them, as well as their product.

2007

In late 2007 Curve Industries "Engineered Performance" opened its doors officially, shipping its first pair of skis in January of 2008. Since that day Curve has continuing to develop new products for the snowmobile industry. Later Curve's slogan was changed to "The Handling Experts" in a quest to improve your snowmobile's handling performance.

Curve Industries becomes a distributor for Elka Suspension, Pro Stock Performance, and Racewerx Protection Products, we only sell the best in the industry.

Curve Industries products are available internationally, with distributors in Canada as well as across the pond in Russia and Europe.

2009

Peter Nietlispach and Curve engineers announce the High Side Steering system, a project that began back in 2005. The HSS system enables the snowmobile to lean into a turn, delivering cornering performance like never before.

Curve Industries tackles darting issues that have plagued snowmobilers for year, particularly today’s heavier 4 strokes, with the release of the Leading Edge for the Curve XS ski. The Leading Edge’s success was tremendous and has become a must have for anyone looking for the ultimate straight line performance no matter what the conditions.

Curve and G4 Graphics team up to begin producing matching sled and ski wraps. Back when wrapping your snowmobile was a fairly new idea Curve gave the rider the ability to really customize their look.

2012

Curve Customs, a platform enabling the customer to become the designer to create their own one off wrap or apparel, was released.

Todd Myers joins the Curve Industries team as its National Race Director. Todd had originally established a relationship with Curve as a customer and racer, as Race Director he could share his race experience and knowledge with the young new talent.

Curve Industries becomes the official ski for Frozen Moto snowbike kits, the XS ski’s handling characteristics and excellent floatation make it the perfect match for the new single track phenomenon.

The ability to tune the Curve ski expands once again with the addition of Curve Thrusters, increasing the XS ski’s already amazing cornering performance and floatation.

2013

Curve Industries dominated the 2013 American Snowmobiler shootout, winning both the Trail Mod 800 class and the Trail Mod class aboard two Curve equipped Arctic Cats. This opened the doors to the popularity of drag skis and loop plates.

Curve Industries joins Western Power Sports late in the 2013 season and is now available at your local WPS dealer.

2014

X Games Gold Medalist, Mike Island signs on as Curve Industries Canadian distributor, tending to the greater Ontario province.

2016
